APL PRESENTS is a forum created by Mike Jordan (of Big Red A Press) and Sally Holt (the Teen Librarian at the Auburn Public Library to give the talented young people who attend the various workshops sponsored by APL a place to express themselves through the media of writing and illustration. What has been the final product of the different workshop series performed by Mr. Jordan is a comic book scripted and drawn by the gifted staff members from the Auburn Middle School (provided by the Auburn Community Learning Center). But to dismiss it as an ordinary comic magazine would be a grave error.
Seven heroes, having survived the first round of challenges for a chance to win the Golden Prize, go on to face the next round, which are more deadly and more sinister even than the first. In the end, the survivors must duke it out to see who will attain the legendary object. To find out who takes home the gold, read: "The Golden Prize".
What makes APL PRESENTS
different? It has good, although slightly askew writing, and the
characters are exciting and fresh, but what really sets the book apart
from any other is the fact that it is almost entirely produced (minus some
editing on Mr. Jordan's part) by young people between the ages of
11 and 14. Truly, a comic book for teenagers by
teenagers.
Presented here, in their entirety (including a photo
gallery of the production) are the issues that have been printed in the
past. Please enjoy, but remember to keep your hands and feet in the
car at all times.

PRESENTS #2Something is terribly wrong in the Toonworld capital.
